Men's Basketball loses 81-58 at Hobart

GENEVA, N.Y. – The RIT men's basketball team lost 81-58 at Hobart in Liberty League action, Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Junior guard Chase Dickens hit a three-pointer early in the first half to cut the deficit to 8-5.
  • Junior guard Brock Bowen scored on a pull-up jumper with 14:38 to play to cut the Statesmen lead to 9-8, while junior forward Josiah Turner scored with 13:01 remaining to make it a two-point game.
  • Alex Moesch capped off a 9-0 Hobart run with a three-pointer with 9:54 to play to extend the Statesmen's lead to 21-10.
  • Senor guard Keegan Ocorr scored with 1:32 to remaining to make the score 34-19, while Pat Healy scored inside the final minute to give Hobart a 36-19 halftime lead.
  • Senior guard Matt Caggiano hit a three-pointer with 12:34 remaining to cut the Hobart lead to 55-34 and made two free throws with 10:08 remaining to cut the deficit to 59-38
  • Senior guard Mark Osime hit a three-pointer with 5:16 remaining, while first year Zac Ditzel scored with 2:26 to play.
  • Senior Ronnie Toole scored with 46 seconds to play, and Niko Lutz scored inside the final 30 seconds to make it an 81-58 final.
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT shot 21-of-55 from the floor, including five three pointers.
  • Caggiano scored 13 points off the bench, while senior Kenny Wilburn tallied nine points
  • Hobart outrebounded RIT, 39-22
