Ansley Orrell leads the Tigers with a career-high 23 points as the women's basketball team beats Clarkson, 74-63, Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Orrell opens up the Tigers' scoring hitting a three-pointer at the 9:02 mark in the first, giving RIT a 3-2 lead
- A jumper from junior forward Sonya Shivok ties the game at 10 midway through the first quarter
- Orrell makes another shot from behind the arc, putting the Tigers up 21-17 with 1:48 left in the first
- RIT takes a 23-20 lead after the first ten minutes of play
- Clarkson starts the second quarter with a 10-3 run, regaining a four point lead with 6:21 left in the second
- Orrell makes a jumpshot at 3:39, followed by a layup on the next possession, putting RIT back in front by two
- Clarkson takes a 38-37 lead going into halftime
- Junior guard Lila McGuiggin connects from behind the arc to open the second half, giving the Tigers an early third quarter lead
- RIT outscores Clarkson 17-10 for the rest of the third, taking a 57-50 lead going into the fourth
- A three-pointer from junior Sydney Pearson gives the Tigers a 15-point lead with 7:17 left in the game
- RIT finishes the game outscoring Clarkson, 13-12, earning an 11-point victory
