Women's Hockey travels to Lindenwood for a pair of CHA games

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The RIT women's hockey team travels to Lindenwood for a pair of College Hockey America games this Friday and Saturday, January 19-20.

Recap (RIT vs. Penn State)
RIT split a pair of College Hockey America games against Penn State, losing 4-0 Friday and rebounding to win 3-2 in overtime, Saturday.
 
First year forward Addie Alvarez scored the game winnerl 2:11 into overtime in Saturday's win. She scored on an assist from junior forward Kylie Aquaro, who finished with two assists. Senior forward Nicole Ness and junior forward Jordyn Bear each scored, while sophomore goalie Sophia Bellina tied her career-high making 44 saves.
 
Saturday's overtime win over Penn State was the first for the Tigers against the Nittany Lions since a 4-3 victory on Feb. 15, 2020.
 
Bellina made 33 saves in Friday's loss.
 
About RIT
RIT is the top defensive team in the CHA, allowing 2.30 goals per game. The Tigers are the least penalized team in the CHA, averaging 7:39 in penalties per game, and lead the league with 336 blocked shots. The Tigers are second in the league, blocking 14.61 shots per game and third killing off 56-of-71 penalties and faceoff winning percentage, winning 48.9 percent of their draws.
 
Aquaro leads the team and is tied for seventh in the CHA with 19 points. She is tied for second with four power play goals and is fifth in the league with 13 assists. Senior forward Emma Roland is second on the team 15 points (7g, 8a), while Alvarez is third on the team in scoring with 13 points (6g, 7a). Sophomore forward Jaidan Fahrny is fourth with 11 points (6g, 5a).   
 
Bellina leads the CHA with a 1.87 goals against average and a .941 save percentage, and is seventh averaging 24.38 saves per game. Junior goalie Sarah Coe is fourth in the league with a 2.72 GAA and fourth with a .915 save percentage, averaging 26.75 saves per contest.
 
Senior forward Lindsay Maloney is sixth in the CHA, winning 186 face offs and sophomore Jaidan Fahrny is tenth in the league with 132 face-off wins. Sophomore forward Lexi Sung is second in the league, winning 63.0 percent of her face offs, while junior forward Megan McCormick is seventh, winning 53.2 percent of her draws.
 
First year defensewoman Emma Pickering leads the CHA with 47 blocked shots, while senior defensewoman Mia Tsilemos is third with 42 and McCormick is ninth with 34 blocks. Tsilemos is third in the league with a +11 , Aquaro is tied for fifth (+8) and Ness is tied for ninth (+6).

Lindenwood split a pair of College Hockey America games at Robert Morris, losing 4-2 on Friday and winning 5-3 the following day.
 
Sophomore defensewoman Quinn McLaren and sophomore forward Sarah Davies each scored in Friday's loss, while senior goalie Natalie Ferenc made 32 saves in net.
 
Sophomore forward Molly Henderson and first year forward Sidney Jackel each had a goal and an assist, while sophomore forward Emma Hoen had two assists in Saturday's win. Jackel scored the go-ahead goal 14:52 into the third period, while junior forward Morgan Neitzke added an empty-net goal. First year goalie Ava McIllmurray made 37 stops in net to earn the victory.
 
Lindenwood is second in the CHA averaging 2.95 goals per game and is sixth defensively, allowing 4.73 goals per contest. The Lions are fourth in the league, converting 17-of-102 power play chances and fifth, killing off 53-of-74 penalties.
 
Neitzke leads Lindenwood and is second in the CHA with 34 points. She leads the league with 20 goals, averaging a league-best 1.45 points per game, and is tied for sixth in the CHA with 12 assists. Davies is second on the team and fourth in the CHA with 21 points (7g, 14a), and is tied for third in the league in assists, averaging 0.64 per game. Graduate student forward Rachel Goff is third in scoring with 15 points (5g, 10a) and Henderson is fourth with 13 points (4g, 9a).
 
Ferenc is 5-8-0 on the season and is seventh in the league with a 4.63 goals against average and a .877 save percentage, averaging 27.76 saves per game.
 
RIT vs. Lindenwood
Lindenwood is 21-17-6 all-time against RIT. The two teams split a pair of games in October with Lindenwood winning game one, and RIT game two.
 
Nietzke tallied two goals and an assist, while Davies and Kaitlin Finnegan each had a goal and an assist in the Lions 6-3 win (Oct. 27), while Ferrence made 30 saves in net for the win. Ness tallied a goal and an assist for RIT and Coe made 31 saves in net.
 
Fahrny scored two goals and added an assist, while Alvarez had three assists in RIT's 6-3 win (Oct. 28). Aquaro finished with a goal and two assists and Bellina made 30 saves in net to earn the win.
 
Aquaro has eight (2g, 6a) career points against Lindenwood, while Roland (2g, 4a), Maloney (5g, 1a) and McCormick (2g, 4a) each has six career points against the Lions.
 
Coe has a 3.19 goals against average and a .911 save percentage in nine career games against Lindenwood.
