Women's Soccer wins 7-0 at Bard

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – RIT senior forward Christine Cataldo-Smith tied her career-high scoring three goals in the Tigers 7-0 win at Bard, Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Senior midfielder Jessie Gomez scored in the second minute off an assist from sophomore forward Elena Onodera to give RIT the lead.
  • Onodero scored her second goal of the season in the 17th minute to make it 2-0, Tigers.
  • Cataldo-Smith scored the first of her three straight goals in the 31st minute.
  • She tallied again in the 44th and 45th minutes to give the Tigers a 5-0 halftime lead.
  • First-year forward Emma Pedro tallied her second goal of the season in the 65th minute.
  • Sophomore midfielder Sam Tran scored in the 81st minute off an assist from senior forward Natalie Faiola to make it a 7-0 final.
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT outshot Bard, 28-2
  • RIT's seven goals is the most goals scored by the Tigers since a 7-0 win over Clarkson on Oct. 2, 2018
  • The Tigers are at the top of the Liberty League standings with seven points
  • Faiola recorded a career-high two assists
  • Sophomore goalie Emily Sanchez made one save in the first half to earn the win, while sophomore Sarah Wier made a save in the second half.
