Women's Hockey wins 5-1 at Assumption

WORCESTER, MASS. – RIT junior forward Emma Roland scored two goals in the Tigers 5-1 win at Assumption, Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Roland scored on a wrist shot at 11:20 of the opening period off assists from junior Bailey Kehl and sophomore Lexi Sung.
  • Jenna Chaplain tied on her goal at 11:42 of the second, scoring on a rebound off of a shot from Alexa Hanrahan to knot the game at 1-1.
  • Kyla Bear gave RIT the lead on her goal at 2:27 of the third period, scoring on a shot from the face-off circle from junior Kylie Aquaro.
  • Sophomore Jaidan Fahrny gave the Tigers a two-goal lead, scoring on assists from juniors Jordyn Bear and Jessie Burks, while Roland scored her second goal of the game at 16:26 to give the Tigers a 4-1 lead.
  • Senior Chloe McNeil scored off an assist from Sung at 16:59 of the third to make it a 5-1 final.
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT sophomore goalie Sophia Bellina won her first collegiate game.
  • Roland tied her career-high with two goals
  • Sung's two assists tied her career-best mark
  • RIT is off to its best start (2-0-2) since going 2-1-1 to begin the 2014-15 season
