Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's soccer team lost to Plattsburgh 3-1 in their second game of the season, Sunday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A goal from Plattsburgh's Nora Fitzgerald in the seventh minute, set the Tigers back early. Plattsburgh would go on to score another goal in the 33rd minute
- Coming into the second half, the Tigers responded with a goal of their own scored by junior Rachel Marriott and assisted by junior Olivia Harris in the 50th minute
- Plattsburgh went on to score one more goal in the 53rd minute, putting them up 3-1
- It looked like the Tigers would close the gap in the 58th minute after Marriott had a great shot off of a RIT corner kick, but Plattsburgh goalkeeper Lauren Haley was able to come up with the save
GAME NOTES
- RIT out-shot Plattsburgh, 14-13, including eight shots on goal
- RIT had six corner kicks while Plattsburgh had none
- Sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Wier had her first-career start in goal for the Tigers
