BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The RIT women's volleyball team lost at Brockport, 3-1 (25-21, 20-25, 25-17, 26-24), Tuesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the lead changed five times early in the first set, Brockport broke a 14-14 tie with an 8-2 run for a 22-16 lead it would not relinquish.
- Trailing, 7-6, in the second set, RIT rode a 9-3 surge to a 15-10 lead. Brockport came back within two, 15-13, but the Tigers responded with a 6-2 run for a 21-15 edge en route to the five-point win.
- Brockport scored the first six points of the third and led by as many as 11, 17-6, en route to the win.
- RIT fell behind, 7-4, in the fourth, but never trailed by less than three until Brockport rode a three-point surge to a 23-19 edge. The Tigers tied the game, 24-24, with a 5-1 run, but the Golden Eagles won the final two points to clinch the match.
GAME NOTES
- Senior setter Sydney Neff recorded 29 assists and had five digs
- Junior middle-blocker Cat Vento and graduate student outside hitter Emelia Mislan had nine kills each. Vento had a .467 attacking percentage
- Senior defensive specialist Hailey Blixt had 12 digs

RIT travels to Medford, Mass. for three matches at the Tufts Invitational this Friday (Sept. 22) and Saturday (Sept. 23).
