GENESEO, N.Y. – Graduate student Matthew Funicelli set an outdoor program record in the shot put and won the hammer throw as the RIT Track & Field team opened its season at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational.

• Funicelli's shot put throw of 15.48m/50'9.5'' bests the 15.29m/50'2'' mark of Mike Hocter in 1983. Funicelli was only bested in the shot put by athletes from Division I Buffalo. He also finished first with a personal best 55.29m/181'4'' in the hammer throw and third in the discus throw invitational (46.17m/151'5'').
• Sophomore Jason Mohr won the javelin throw with a mark of 53.23m/174'7''.
• First-year Jackson Gloskey won the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.77.
• Junior Justin Jantzi finished second and set a personal best in the 200 (22.50).
• Graduate student Otto Wilson finished second with a personal best 49.81 in the 400.
• The RIT team of Andrew Koubek, Michael Sardo, Wilson, and Ryan Senf placed second in the 4x100.
• Senior Tyler Hulse finished second in the high jump with a height of 1.94m/6'4.25''.
• Graduate student Connor Burrows finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 13.22m/43'4.5''.

RIT returns to action on Saturday, April 8, when it hosts a home meet starting at 10:00 A.M.
