- Hobart regained the lead in the fourth on an error and a sacrifice bunt, 5-4.
- Slaymaker hit his first home run of the game and third of the season in the sixth, a two-run shot to jump ahead, 6-5.
- Marsh extended the lead to 8-5 with a two-run home run in the seventh.
- Hobart narrowed the lead to 8-7 with two runs in the bottom of the seventh.
- The Statesmen tied the game, 8-8, with an out in the ninth on a double by Christian Petry.
- The Tigers took the lead for good in the top of the 10th on Slaymaker's second home run of the day and fourth of the year, a three-run shot to make it 11-8.
- Hobart threatened in the bottom half of the inning and scored one before Petry flew out to end the game, 11-9.
GAME NOTES:
- This was the second time this month that Slaymaker had multiple home runs: he had two including a grand slam in game one of a doubleheader with St. Lawrence on April 11.
- Slaymaker finished the day with five RBI and three runs scored.
- Junior shortstop Randy Dodig went 3-for-5 with two doubles and a walk.
- The second game of the doubleheader was postponed due to an inclement weather forecast and will be made up as part of a doubleheader at RIT on Sunday.
WHAT'S NEXT:
RIT hosts a doubleheader with Hobart on Sunday, beginning with the postponed game from Saturday in which the Statesmen will serve as the home team. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
