Softball falls to Central, 9-1 (5 inn.) on final day of play in Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. – The RIT softball team fell to Central, 9-1 (5 inn.) on the final day at the Tucson Invitational Games, Thursday. 
  • Sophomore Bailey Kehl led off the fourth inning with a triple and scored the Tigers' lone run on an RBI single by sophomore Maddy Cook.
  • Central broke open a 3-1 game with six runs in the fifth inning.
  • Autumn Broyles finished 1-for-2 with a double.
  • Sophomore Lexi Pieri took the loss, allowing two earned runs in four innings of work.
  • RIT was also scheduled to play Webster on Thursday morning, but the game was cancelled due to wet field conditions.

RIT is scheduled to open the home portion of the 2023 slate hosting Oswego on Wednesday, March 22 for a doubleheader at 3:00 p.m.
