Women’s Basketball loses to St. Lawrence, 68-57

CANTON, NY – Senior forward Kaleesha Joseph scored 18 points and made 10 rebounds in the Tigers' 68-57 road loss to St. Lawrence on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Tigers struck first with a layup by Joseph with 8:29 left in the first quarter.
  • RIT maintained the lead until the Saints tied it up with 3:12 left in the first quarter, 6-6.
  • St. Lawrence outscored RIT 9-6 the rest of the quarter to finish the first quarter up 15-12.
  • First-year guard Erin DiPaola scored the first six points of the second quarter, putting the Tigers up 18-15 with 4:09 left in the half.
  • St. Lawrence tied it, 18-18, on an Abby Doin three-pointer with 2:15 left in the half.
  • First-year guard Ansley Orrell put the Tigers on top again, 20-18, with 1:59 left in the half.
  • The Saints regained the lead going into halftime, 21-20, on a Jackie Malley three-pointer with 21 seconds left.
  • St. Lawrence extended its lead to 44-35 by outscoring the Tigers, 23-15, in the third quarter.
  • The Saints maintained the lead the rest of the way for the 68-57 win.
GAME NOTES
  • The Tigers shot 19-of-54 (35.2%) from the floor, including 6-of-17 (35.3%) from beyond the arc.
  • RIT outrebounded St. Lawrence, 42-38.
  • Sophomore guard Lila McGuiggin had 14 points, while DiPaola finished the game with 13 points.
