ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT men's track & field team tied for third at the 2023 Liberty League Indoor Track & Field Championships at Gordon Field House. 

• Graduate student Matthew Funicelli won the weight throw with a program record and personal best mark of 17.94m, and placed second in the shot put for the second year in a row, with a mark of 16.25m.
• Senior Tyler Hulse, who swept the indoor and outdoor high jump titles last season, won the event again with a height of 2.03m. His teammate, sophomore Peter Anderson, came in second with a personal best 1.94m. 
• The 4x400 relay team of sophomore Matthew Resnick, sophomore Max Stein, first-year Ryan Senf, and sophomore Trenton Goyette won with an Atlantic Region qualifying time of 3:24.50.
• Junior Justin Jantzi finished second in the 200 with an Atlantic Region qualifying time of 22.63. His teammate, Stein, placed eighth with a personal best 23.21.
• The distance medley team of sophomore Joseph Coughlin, first-year Andrew Koubek, first-year Josh Bedford, and first-year Evan Owens placed third with a time of 10:40.86.
• Resnick (50.73), Stein (50.96), and Senf (51.19) finished fourth, fifth, and seventh in the 400, each with an Atlantic Region qualifying time. Stein's time was also a personal best.
• Senior Connor Burrows placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 13.15m.
• Sophomore Matt Chaikowsky placed fifth in the 800 with an Atlantic Region qualifying time of 1:56.06.
• Jackson Gloskey placed fifth in the 60 hurdles finals with an Atlantic Region qualifying personal best of 8.57.
• Senior Jeremy Saluzzi had a personal best 3,814 points in the heptathlon, placing sixth. 

RIT improved upon its fourth-place team effort a season ago with the result. The Tigers will next compete in New York City on March 3rd and 4th in the Atlantic Region Indoor Championships.
