Chris Reilly went 3-6 with an RBI, as the Tigers won their season-opener against Washington College (Md.), 10-1, on Friday at the Gallaudet Bison Baseball Classic.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Senior C Kyle Poorman put the Tigers on the board in the top of the fourth with a no-outs single to left field that plated Reilly to make it 1-0. A batter later, sophomore RF Adam Marsh scored on a throwing error after Junior CF John Bagley flew out to increase the lead to 2-0. Poorman later scored the third run of the inning when he scored on a passed ball during first-year Trent Rapp's at-bat to extend the lead to 3-0.
- First-year 2B Jarin Moses plated two with the first hit of his collegiate career, knocking home Bagley and Rapp with a one out single in the sixth to make it 5-0. Moses would score later in the inning on a single by graduate 1B Ian Libby to enlarge the lead to 6-0.
- After Washington got on the board in the bottom of the sixth, the Tigers would score four more in the seventh to make the score 10-1.
- First-year right-handed pitcher Liam Miller made his debut in relief, going four innings with two hits and an earned-run for the first save of his collegiate career.
GAME NOTES
- The Tigers outhit Washington, 9-4.
- The Tigers played an error-free game to Washington's five error performance.
- Poorman and Bagley each had two stolen bases.
