Men's Basketball beats Gallaudet, 77-62

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior guard Brock Bowen and first-year guard Brody Brown each scored 15 points to lead the Tigers to a 77-62 win over Gallaudet, Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Senior guard Matt Caggiano scored on a layup with 13:23 remaining in the first half to give RIT a 17-point lead.
  • Gallaudet's Blessed Mbogo drained a three-pointer with 8:41 to play in the opening frame to cut the RIT lead to 22-15.
  • Junior Josiah Turner scored with 4:52 to play to increase the RIT lead to 34-19, while first-year Zac Ditzel made a pair of free throws to give RIT a 42-21 lead.
  • Sawan Samer scored for Gallaudet in the closing moments of the half to cut the RIT lead to 48-28 at halftime.
  • Junior forward Jackson Otis scored early in the second half to extend the RIT lead to 22-points.
  • Mbogo drained a three-pointer with 11:18 to play to make it a 13-point deficit.
  • First-year  guard Zac Ditzel scored a layup with 6:34 remaining to balloon the RIT lead to 26 point, and hit two free throws with a minute remaining to give RIT a 77-60 lead.
  • Samer scored for Gallaudet with time running out to make it a 77-62 final.
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT shot 28-of-57 (49.1 %) from the floor, including nine three-pointers
  • The Tigers held a 42-28 rebounding edge and scored 36 points in the paint
  • Otis and Ditzel each scored 11 points, while Brown had eight assists
