ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT junior
Liam Strouse finished second at 165 lbs. to lead the Tigers to a second place finish at the Ned McGinley Invitational at Kings, Saturday.
Strouse, the No. 6 seed, defeated Mariano Monacelli with a fall (1:22) in his opening match. He defeated Aaron Munford), 17-6 in his second match before a 6-0 win over No. 3 Matt Lucas in the quarterfinals. Strouse took down No. 2 Chris Stathopoulos (Stevens), 12-11 in the semifinals and lost 4-0 to No. 1 Harrison Hinojosa in the finals.
Junior
Lee Rubin went 5-1 including three wins by pinfall to finish fourth at 125 lbs., while junior
Logan Patterson went 4-2 to earn a fourth place finish at 133 lbs. Seniors
Ben Dougherty and
Mike Glynn III earned a fourth place finishes at 174 lbs. and 149 lbs., respectively.
First year
Marek Bush came back to finish fourth at 157 lbs., while first year
Josh Lanka went 3-2 to earn a fourth place finish at 285 lbs. Junior
Josh Post went 4-2 and finished fourth at 141 lbs.
First years
Bryson Vaughn (141 lbs.),
Josh Warland (157 lbs.) and
Ryan Fischer (285 lbs.) each earned sixth place finishes.
