ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT wrestling will join the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as associate members along with Ithaca, St. John Fisher and Utica beginning in 2023-24.
 
The four new members join Brockport, Cortland, Oneonta and Oswego to make up the eight-team conference.
 
The announcement was made on Thursday by SUNYAC Commissioner Tim DiCamillo following approval by the SUNYAC President's Council.
 
"RIT wrestling is happy to be a part of the SUNYAC," said RIT head coach Jason Bovenzi. "The reorganization of the conference has allowed it to maintain its competitive integrity while maintaining membership from the former Empire Conference."
 
The Tigers begin the 2023-24 season on Saturday (Nov. 4) at the King's (Pa.) Ned McGinley Invitational at 9:00 a.m.
