Women's Hockey loses 6-3 to Lindenwood in CHA opener

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT juniors Kyla Bear and Kylie Aquaro each had two assists in the Tigers 6-3 loss to Lindenwood in the CHA opener, Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Sophomore forward Jaidan Fahrny scored 1:26 into the first period on a give-and-go with Aquaro.
  • Lindenwood's Kaitlin Finnegan tied the game on her goal at 6:31 of the opening frame.
  • Junior forward Megan McCormick had a shot from the slot saved by Lindenwood goalie, Natalie Ferenc late in the period.
  • Senior forward Nicole Ness scored 1:35 into the second period from Aquaro and junior forward Jordyn Bear.
  • Morgan Neitzke tied the game on her power play goal at 3:26, and Sydney Rarick gave the Lions a 3-2 lead on her power play goal at 4:55.
  • McCormick scored with eight minutes remaining in the period on an assist from first year Linda Rulle that tied the game at 3-3.
  • Neitzke notched her second goal of the game at 7:38 of the third to give Lindenwood a 4-3 lead.
  • Chloe Corbin score at 13:00 and Sarah Davies at 15:22 of the third to make it a 6-3 final.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Lindenwood outshot RIT, 37-33
  • RIT was 0-for-3 with the extra skater and blocked 23 shots
  • Junior goalie Sarah Coe made 31 saves
