ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The RIT women's hockey team begins College Hockey America play with a pair of games against Lindenwood, Friday and Saturday (Oct. 27-28).
 
Weekend Recap (RIT at St. Lawrence)
Senior forward Nicole Ness scored in the Tigers 2-1 loss at No. 11 St. Lawrence, Thursday. Ness scored at 10:59 of the third period that cut the deficit to one goal. Junior goalie Sarah Coe made 37 stops.  
 
About RIT
RIT is first in the CHA allowing 1.89 goals per game and tied for third averaging 2.0 goals per contest. The Tigers lead the league with 134 blocked shots averaging 14.89 per game and are third killing off 81.5 percent their penalties and winning 49.7 percent of their face offs.
 
Senior Emma Roland, juniors Jessie Burks and Athena Vasdani and sophomores Jaidan Fahrny and Lexi Sung are tied for first on the team with four points apiece. Roland is tied for sixth in the league with a team-best three goals, while Burks is tied for fifth with a team-high four assists.
 
Senior captain Lindsay Maloney is second in the league winning 55.4 percent of her face offs and is third with 103 face off wins. First-year Emma Pickering is tied for fourth in the CHA with 18 blocked shots while junior Kyla Bear is tied for seventh with 16.
 
Coe leads the CHA with a 2.10 goals against average and a .937 save percentage and 31.71 saves per game.

About Lindenwood
Lindenwood split a pair of games at the 2023 Women's Ice Breaker at St. Cloud, winning 4-2 against Sacred Heart before a 5-0 loss to the No. 13 Huskies.
 
Junior Morgan Neitzke recorded a hat trick and graduate student Rachel Goff added two assists in Friday's win. Senior Natalie Ferenc made 23 saves to earn the win. Ferenc made 26 stops in Saturday's loss.
 
Lindenwood is second in the CHA averaging 2.25 goals per game and sixth allowing 5.38 goals per contest. The Lions are second converting 12.8 percent (5-of-39) of their power plays and tied for fifth, killing off 12-of-21 (70.0 percent) penalties.
 
Neitzke leads the CHA with 11 points, averaging a league-best 1.38 points per game and leads the league with six goals. Sophomore Sarah Davies is second on the team with six points and graduate student Gigi Pora and Goff are tied for third with five points each. Gorgi is tied for first in the league with two power play goals and Neitzke is tied for third with five assists.
 
Ferenc is fourth in the CHA averaging 30.86 saves per game and seventh with a 4.95 goals against average and a .874 save percentage.
 
RIT vs. Lindenwood
Lindenwood is 20-16-6 all time against RIT. Lindenwood was 4-0 last season versus the Tigers, including a pair of wins at the Gene Polisseni Center. Senior Nicole Ness scored in the Tigers 2-1 overtime loss last November. Ryan Meara scored the game-winner 1:20 into the overtime. Coe made 24 saves for RIT, while Ferenc made 31 stops for the Lions. RIT's last win against Lindenwood was a 6-4 victory in the 2022 CHA Quarterfinal.  
 
Coe has a 2.76 goals against average and a .923 save percentage in seven career games against Lindenwood. Roland has six points (3g, 3a) against Lindenwood all-time, while Maloney (4g, 1a), junior Megan McCormick (1g, 4a) and Vasdani (3g, 2a) each have five points versus the Lions.
