Men's Basketball loses 74-56 to Hobart

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior forward Kevin Ryan scored 15 points in the Tigers 74-56 loss to Hobart, Saturday.

RIT honored military veterans prior to the game.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Sophomore center Andrew Fox made a pair of free throws to give the Tigers an 11-10 lead early in the first half, while sophomore guard Chase Dickens gave RIT a 13-12 lead on his jumper.
  • Hobart's Pat Henley hit a jumper with 10:08 remaining to give the Statesmen a 20-15 lead.
  • A Dickens dunked with 9:16 remaining cut the Hobart lead to 20-17, while junior guard Brandon Weiss hit a three-pointer to make it a three-point game.
  • Healey hit again from beyond the arc to give the Statesmen a 30-22 lead.
  • Fox hit a jumper off an assist from Dickens that cut the Hobart lead to 31-26.
  • Hobart scored the final six points of the half including a layup from Isaiah Washington in the final seconds to give Hobart a 37-26 halftime lead.
  • Sophomore guard Brock Bowen hit a three-pointer early in the second half that cut the Hobart lead to 38-31
  • Ryan scored and converted the free throw that cut the Hobart lead to 41-35.
  • Jackson Meshanic hit a three-pointer with 12:46 to play to increase the Hobart lead to 48-35.
  • Ryan scored a pair of free throws with 7:36 to play to cut the Hobart lead to 64-48.
  • He converted an old-fashioned three-point play with 6:42 remaining to make it a 16-point deficit.
  • Junior guard Ronnie Toole late in the game to make it a 74-56 final.
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT shot 18-of-49 from the floor, and scored 46 points in the paint.
  • Hobart outrebounded the Tigers, 40-24.
  • Fox tallied 12 points and eight rebounds, while junior guard Matt Caggiano scored nine points off the bench.
