SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The RIT women's hockey team lost 4-1 in College Hockey American action at Syracuse, Wednesday.
Graduate student forward
Amy Dobson scored a goal, while sophomore forward
Athena Vasdani and junior forward
Lindsay Maloney each had an assist. Sophomore goalie
Sarah Coe made 27 saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hannah Johnson scored at 3:37 of the first period to give the Orange the lead.
- Coe made 10 saves in the period for RIT.
- Dobson had a chance from the slot early in the second period blocked by an Orange defender.
- Junior forward Nicole Ness had a chance at 12:59 of the second when she skated around two Orange defenders and got a shot on target from close-range.
- Dobson scored 3:10 into third period off assist from Vasdani and Maloney tying the score at 1-1.
- Lauren Bellefontaine scored at 4:54 to give the Orange a 2-1 lead, Madison Primeau made it 3-1 on her power-play goal at 5:50 and Sarah Thompson tallied an empty-net goal at 17:33 to make it a 4-1 final.
GAME NOTES
- Syracuse out shot RIT, 31-25.
- The Tigers won 26 face-offs and had six blocks.
- RIT took four penalties for eight minutes.
