Men's Basketball loses 69-64 to St. Lawrence

ROCHESTER, NY – RIT sophomore center Andrew Fox scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the Tigers 69-64 loss to St. Lawrence, Friday.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • St. Lawrence's Will Engelhardt hit two straight three-pointers early in the first half to give the Saints an 11-5 lead, while Trent Adamson made it 13-5 on his bucket with 15:21 to play.
  • Sophomore guard Chase Dickens drained a three-pointer to cut the Saints lead to 13-12, while senior forward Kevin Ryan gave the Tigers a 14-13 lead with a pair of free throws.
  • Dickens scored with 7:06 to play in the half to give RIT a three-point lead.
  • Fox converted an old-fashioned three-point play to extend the Tigers lead to 23-19.
  • Engelhardt scored with 2:23 remaining in the half to give the Saints a 25-24 lead.
  • RIT took a 30-27 lead into halftime on a Mark Osime three-pointer in the closing seconds.
  • Adamson scored early in the second half to give St. Lawrence a 34-32 lead.
  • Fox hit two free throws to give the Tigers a two-point lead, and scored off an assist from Dickens to increase the RIT lead to 38-34.
  • Ryan scored from Fox with 15:11 to play to give the Tigers a 42-36 lead its largest of the half.
  • Liam McDonald scored with 10:24 to play to give St. Lawrence a 51-48 lead.
  • Junior guard Matt Caggiano scored to cut the deficit to one points, while Carter Storey hit a three-pointer on the Saints next possession to make it 54-50.
  • Caggiano tied the game at 56-56 with a pair of free throws with 5:22 to play.
  • Adamson gave the Saints a 60-58 lead, but Dickens hit a pair of free throws to tie the game at 60-60.
  • Gavin Macaulay hit a three-pointer to give the Saints a 68-62 lead with 38 seconds to play.
  • Fox cut the lead to four points on his bucket with 19 seconds to play, but Engelhardt scored in the closing seconds to make it a 69-64 final.

  • RIT shot 45.3 percent from the floor on 224-of-53 shooting, including four three-pointers.
  • The Tigers scored 34 points in the paint.
