Women's Soccer beats Denison 2-1

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Junior forward Natalie Faiola scored the go-ahead goal in the 71st minute to help the RIT women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Denison in the season-opener from the newly renovated Doug May Field, Friday.
 
How it Happened
  • Callie Davis gave Denison a 1-0 lead on her goal in the 15th minute off an assist from Kendall Sierens.
  • First Year midfielder Jillian Antol tallied her first collegiate goal off an assist from junior Elle Hallock in the 39th minute that tied the game at 1-1.
  • Junior Teresa Avino got past her defender and fed Faiola with a pass that she fired into the bottom right corner.
  • The Tigers defense clamped down in the second half, allowing Denison just one shot.
 
Game Notes
  • RIT outshot Denison 13-5.
  • The Tigers had five corner kicks, while Denison finished with two.
  • Senior Darcie Jones made three saves to earn the win for RIT, while Molly Noga took the loss for the Big Red.
