ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on the first day of the RIT Invitational, Friday, in Clark Gym. The Tigers fell, 3-1 (25-19, 25-11, 18-25, 25-13) to Cortland before coming up short to Mount Union, 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-14).
CORTLAND 3, RIT 0 (25-19, 25-11, 18-25, 25-13)
- Sophomore outside hitter Liv Benard totaled a team-high nine kills along with six digs.
- Sophomore outside hitter Samantha Cox added seven digs and six kills.
- Junior setter Sydney Neff compiled 27 assists and eight digs.
MOUNT UNION 3, RIT 0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-14)
- Cox tied the match-high with 10 kills and added five digs
- Graduate Student middle blocker Calista Gasper added nine kills on a .375 attack percentage.
- Neff totaled 25 assists and nine digs.
