Men's Soccer loses 2-1 at Geneseo

GENESEO, N.Y. – The RIT men's soccer team lost 2-1 at Geneseo, Saturday. Senior midfielder Jonathan Cohen converted a penalty kick for the Tigers in the 85th minute.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Geneseo's Tyler Lewandowski gave the Knights a 1-0 lead on his goal in the 26th minute off an assist from Justin Arilotta.
  • Cohen had a chance in the 35th minute, but his free kick clanged off the post and away.
  • Lewandosky gave the Knights a 2-0 lead on his second goal of the game in the 64th minute.
  • Jaden Winall Longdon drew a foul inside the Geneseo box on a 50-50 ball in the air with five minutes to play. Cohen buried the penalty into the corner to pull RIT to within 2-1.
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT fired 11 shots including four on target, while Geneseo finished with nine shots and three on goal.
  • Each team finished with four corner kicks.
  • Sophomore goalie Jason Trapp made one save in net for RIT, while Will Price made three stops for Geneseo

RIT is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday (Sept. 13) against the University of Rochester at 7:00 p.m.
