ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's tennis team fell to Oneonta, 5-4, at the RIT tennis courts, Tuesday.
After falling behind 0-2 in doubles, graduate student
Julia Smolowitz and senior
Kirsten Auble got the Tigers on the board with an 8-6 win at third doubles. First and second doubles fell by 8-4 scores with sophomore
Jackie Drozd and freshman
Gabby Donohue at first doubles and sophomore
Abby Murray and junior
Mackenzie Wade at second doubles.
Auble helped RIT to a 3-3 tie with 6-2 and 7-5 set wins at third singles and Donohue tied the match at 4-4 after taking a three-set match at second singles with an opening-set 6-2 loss, followed by 7-5 and 6-2 wins. In the final match of the day, senior
Julianne Ho fell in sixth singles, 7-6, 6-3. Drozd lost at first singles, 6-1, 6-3, and Smolowitz fell in fifth singles, 6-3, 6-2.
Women's Tennis next travels to Bard on Saturday, April 9 at 10 a.m. in Liberty League action.
