ONEONTA, N.Y. – The RIT women's tennis team beat host Hartwick, 8-1, Saturday.
The Tigers got off to a 3-0 start in doubles play. Sophomore
Jackie Drozd and freshman
Gabby Donohue (first doubles) along with senior
Kirsten Auble and junior
Mackenzie Wade (third doubles) won by 8-2 scores, while RIT's second doubles' pair of senior
Julianne Ho and sophomore
Abby Murray, won 8-0.
In singles action, Auble, Murray, Ho and Wade won in straight sets. Auble took third singles, 6-0, 6-0. Murray was a winner at fourth singles, 6-0, 6-1. Ho took fifth singles, 6-0, 6-2, and Wade won sixth singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Donahue recovered from a 7-5 first-set loss to take the next two sets with a victory at second singles, 6-2, 10-8. Drozd won her first set in first singles, 6-2, before dropping the next two sets, 7-5, 10-2.
