Women's Lacrosse loses 15-8 at Colorado College

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The RIT (1-3) women's lacrosse team lost 15-8 at Colorado College (3-2), Wednesday. Senior McKenna Joint and junior Baylee West each scored three goals.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Goals from West, senior Aldyn Savage and senior Colette Rigas gave RIT a 3-2 lead after the first quarter.
  • Joint scored twice early in the second quarter to give RIT a 5-3 lead.
  • Peyton Murphy's second goal with 3:49 to play in the half gave Colorado College an 8-5 lead.
  • West scored off an assist from freshman Ella Doan with 47 seconds to play to cut the Colorado College lead to 8-6, and scored with seven seconds remaining to make it a one-goal game.
  • Joint scored early in the third quarter to tie the score at 8-8.
  • Colorado College scored three straight goals to lead 11-8 heading the fourth quarter.
  • RIT was outscored 4-0 in the fourth quarter.
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT fired 24 shots, including 17 on net.
  • RIT caused nine turnovers, had 30 ground balls and went 18-of-23 on clears.
  • Freshman goalie Linda Nutter made eight saves in net for RIT.
  • Bella Scola and Peyton Murphy each scored three goals for Colorado College.
