ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – RIT senior left fielder
Chris Reilly went 3-for-4 with a homerun, but it was host Bard coming away with the victory, 7-2, in Liberty League play Sunday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bard took a 1-0 lead in the first after Jordan Meyers singled to score Alex Luscher.
- Reilly's solo home run to left field tied the game at 1-1 in the second inning.
- Bard added three runs in the fourth for a 4-1 lead with scores coming off a double, sacrifice fly and passed ball.
- Bard scored one run in the fifth to take a 5-1 lead on a sacrifice fly by Andrew Roberge that scored Jake Stacey.
- The Tigers cut the Raptors' lead to three in the sixth after sophomore shortstop Randy Dodig's single through the left side scored sophomore right fielder John Bagley for a 5-2 game.
- Bard capped the game's scoring in the bottom of the sixth after Stacey's two-run single.
GAME NOTES
- The Tigers finish the Liberty League opening-weekend series with a 2-1 conference record.
- Of the Tigers' nine hits, junior catcher Kyle Poorman had two, with solo hits from Bagley, Dodig, freshmen centerfielder Sam Kulp and second baseman Christopher Colella. Only Bagley's hit went for extra bases.
- Sophomore pitcher John Arnold took the loss after going five innings and allowing five hits, five walks with four strikeouts and two earned runs.
- Junior pitcher Peter Bossinas allowed three hits, two walks and two runs with one strikeout in two innings of work in relief.
- Senior pitcher Reagan Farley closed out the game for RIT allowing two hits in one inning of work.
