Women’s Lacrosse wins 20-10 at Bard

ANNONDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – Senior Colette Rigas scored six goals to lead RIT (3-5, 2-2 Liberty League) to a 20-10 win at Bard 2-6, 0-3 Liberty League), Saturday.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Senior Aldyn Savage tied the score at 1-1 on her woman-up goal.
  • Rigas gave RIT a 2-1 lead on her first of two goals in the opening quarter with 6:11 to play and again with 1:59 remaining to give RIT a 3-2 lead.
  • Bard's Rachel Yoder tied the game at 3-3 on her goal with 1:36 to play.
  • Savage scored three of her four goals in the second quarter as RIT broke the game open, outscoring the Raptors 9-2 in the quarter and led 12-5 at halftime.
  • Sophomores Julia Tenney and Kayleigh Ground, Rigas, seniors McKenna Joint and junior Baylee West each scored in the second quarter for RIT.
  • Tenney and Rigas each scored twice in the third quarter, while Joint and West also scored to help RIT extend its lead to an 18-9 lead.
  • Joint and Ground each scored in the fourth quarter, while Yoder scored for the Raptors to make it a 20-10 final.
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT fired 38 shots, including 32 on target.
  • The Tigers won 26-of-34 draw controls and cleared the ball 10-of-11 times.
  • Tenney finished with a career-high three goals and five points.
  • West led the Tigers with nine draw controls, while Joint grabbed five ground balls.
  • Freshman goalie Linda Nutter made five saves in net for RIT to earn the win, while junior Victoria Rea made five saves in relief.
  • Yoder led Bard with three goals, while Roxanne Rouskas made 12 saves in net.
