ROCHESTER, NY – Freshman Clifford Gaston tallied four goals and seven points to lead No. 1 RIT (2-0) to a 25-9 win at Nazareth (0-2), Wednesday. Eight different Tigers scored two or more goals and 14 scored at least one goal.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• RIT scored the first nine goals of the contest and led 9-1 after the first quarter.
• Seniors Ryan Barnable and Quinn Commandant and junior Luke Pilcher each scored two goals in the quarter.
• The Tigers outscored the Golden Flyers 5-1 in the second quarter and led 14-2 at halftime.
• Gaston scored two of his four goals in the second quarter, while senior Ryan Rosenblum tallied two goals.
• Nazareth outscored RIT 5-3 in the third quarter.
• Senior Andrew Doktor scored two goals in an eight-goal fourth quarter for the Tigers.

 
 
GAME NOTES

• Shots were 52-25 in favor of RIT.
• RIT won 25-of-38 face-offs, were 16-of-20 on clearing attempts and went 0-for-1 on man-up.
• Senior Drew Hutchison made eight saves in goal to improve to 2-0 on the season.
• Graduate student Jimmy Spillane won 12-o14 draws and six ground balls.
• Jon Roth scored three goals to lead Nazareth.
