Colette Rigas led the Tigers with six goals, while senior
Aldyn Savage finished with three goals and five points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Senior Myranda D'Antico scored the Tigers lone goal as RIT trailed 7-1 after the first quarter.
- RIT outscored Clarkson 4-2 in the second quarter, trailing 9-5 at halftime.
- Savage scored two of her three goals in the second quarter, while Rigas and junior Baylee West each scored.
- Rigas scored three of her six goals in the third quarter, and junior Rose Core cut the Clarkson lead to 9-6 on her goal off an assist from Savage with 10:34 to play in the quarter.
- Clarkson's Madelynn Barnum and Julia Lavarnway each scored late in the third to give the Golden Knights a 15-9 lead.
- Freshman Ella Doan converted a free position attempt early in the fourth quarter to cut the Clarkson lead to 15-10.
- The Golden Knights scored four straight goals, taking a 20-11 lead on a Lavarnway's goal with 4:20 to play.
- Savage (3:53), Rigas (3:28; 1:48) and sophomore Carissa Hlywa (1:09) each scored late in regulation to make it a 20-15 final.
GAME NOTES
- RIT fired 28 shots, including 22 on target.
- The Tigers won 22-of-39 draw controls and 14-of-19 on clearing attempts.
- Junior Victoria Rea made nine saves in net for RIT, while Sydney Christiansen made seven saves for Clarkson.
- Barnum led Clarkson with eight goals.
