ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior
Carter Casimir was the lone Tiger to record a pair of shutout set wins in singles play, leading the RIT men's tennis team to a 9-0 victory over host Nazareth in the Golisano Training Center, Saturday.
All six singles matches were decided in straight sets for the Tigers, while RIT's three doubles teams won by a combined 24-3 score.
Four of the six singles winners were freshmen, while senior
Jake Wolicki took fourth singles, 6-1, 6-0. Freshmen
Christian Berko (6-3, 6-1) took first singles,
Joel Pho (6-1, 6-0) won second singles,
Grahith Movva (6-1, 6-2) captured third singles, and
Max Chang (6-3, 6-1) was victorious in fifth singles. Casimer's win came at sixth singles.
In doubles play, Berko and
Ethan Martin scored an 8-0 win at third doubles, Casimer and Pho scored an 8-1 victory at second doubles and
Jacob Meyerson and Wolicki took third doubles by an 8-2 score.
RIT begins Liberty League play next weekend hosting Vassar on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. at the Gordon Field House.
