ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The RIT women's hockey team continues Conference Hockey America action with a pair of games this weekend at Mercyhurst. The Tigers travel to Erie, Pa. for games on Friday, Feb. 4 at 6:05 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 5 at 2:05 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
RIT enters the weekend series with Mercyhurst after a rare week off. The previous weekend, RIT lost a home-and-home series with Syracuse. The Tigers fell 3-0 in Syracuse on Jan. 21, before falling 5-2 in Rochester on Jan. 22. In the Syracuse series, freshman goaltender
Sarah Coe finished with 69 saves that included a 40-save performance Jan. 21 – her fourth 40-save or better performance of the season. Coe is fourth in the nation in saves with 666. Senior forward
Abby Davies played her 100th collegiate game – all with RIT in the first Syracuse contest on Jan. 21. Freshman defender
Bailey Kehl scored her first collegiate goal (Jan. 22) and took sole possession of defensive team scoring with five points.
CHA JANUARY HONORABLE MENTIONS
Three Tigers were recognized as honorable mentions for CHA players of the month for January and include Davies (forward of the month), Coe (goaltender of the month), and freshman defender
Kyla Bear (rookie of the month). All three were instrumental in helping the Tigers to a pair of ties in January.
THREE JANUARY OPPONENTS, 20 MINUTES TO GO
RIT has ties in two of its last five starts while facing three opponents since the 2022 calendar year began. Entering the third period in at least one game against each of those three opponents, RIT lead LIU, were tied against Syracuse, and trailed Penn State by one.
DEFENSIVE STATS
RIT continues to lead the nation in team saves with 934. Senior defender
Taylor Sims leads the nation in blocked shots with 74, including a season-high nine blocks in the team's last start. Sophomore defender
Mia Tsilemos is sixth nationally in blocked shots with 61. Bear leads all freshmen players nationally in blocked shots with 52 and is tied for 10th nationally. Senior forward and captain
Jordan Marchese co-leads all forwards nationally in blocked shots with 45 and is tied for 19th nationally.

Emma Roland leads the team in scoring with 10 points, one ahead of Davies and sophomore forward
Lindsay Maloney.
ABOUT THE LAKERS
The Lakers are third in the CHA with 12 points and have a 6-4-0 conference record and a 16-9-2 overall record. Mercyhurst enters this weekend's games after dropping a pair of road contests at Penn State last time out. The Lakers fell 2-1 on Jan. 28 and followed that with a 3-1 loss on Jan 29. Freshman forward Vanessa Upson's 16 goals and 28 points lead Mercyhurst, while senior forward Liliane Perreault has a team-best 17 assists. Both were held scoreless last weekend.
RIT VS. MERCYHURST – HISTORY
RIT has an 6-35-0 lifetime record against Mercyhurst that includes a 0-3 (0-2 CHA) record this year after a season-opening non-conference 6-3 loss on Sept. 19, and a pair of conference losses in Rochester on Nov. 19 (3-1) and Nov. 20 (6-1).
