RIT enters the CHA Tournament after taking one of four points against CHA opponent Penn State last weekend with a 2-2 tie (Feb. 18) and 2-0 loss (Feb. 19) in the final 2021-22 CHA regular season series. Freshman goaltender
Sarah Coe finished with 83 saves and a .965 save percentage against the Nittany Lions last weekend.
CHA GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK AND ALL-ROOKIE TEAM RECOGNITION
Coe was named CHA Goaltender of the Week, Monday and to the CHA All-Rookie Team, Tuesday. Coe finished with 83 saves and with a .965 save percentage in the Penn State series last weekend, her second series with 80 or more saves (Mercyhurst Nov. 19-20). She finished the 2021-22 campaign with six 40-plus save performances and owns five of the top 10 series saves marks in the CHA this year, while ranking seventh nationally in saves with 800, which includes a conference-best 429 in CHA play. In 18 of her 22 starts this season, Coe registered 30 saves or more that included a season-high 52 stops against CHA regular season champion Syracuse in November. The freshman goaltender was at her best in the Tigers' final three games of the regular season, going 1-1-1 and stopping 116 of 120 shots for a .967 save percentage and 1.30 goals-against average.

STRONG FINISH
RIT has one win and four ties since the 2022 calendar year began. Entering the third period this season, the Tigers have either led, tied or trailed by a single goal in more than half its contests. RIT has six OT games this season with five coming in 2022 and has taken each CHA opponent to overtime. RIT went 1-1-2 in its last four games.
UPCOMING SCHOLARSHIPS
A proposal was passed at the NCAA Convention on Jan. 22 which will allow RIT to offer scholarships to its Division I women's hockey student-athletes moving forward.
DEFENSIVE STATS
RIT continues to lead the nation in team saves with 1,187. Senior defender
Taylor Sims is second the nation in blocks with 95, while sophomore defender
Mia Tsilemos is third nationally with 80. Bear is third among freshmen players nationally in blocked shots with 63 and is 15th nationally.
ABOUT THE LIONS
Lindenwood finished the regular season with a split against Mercyhurst last weekend. The Lions lost 6-2 (Feb. 18) before taking a 4-3 win (Feb. 19). Lindenwood is led by Sierra Burt's 21 points and 15 assists. She also co-leads the team with six goals with Casey Adimey.
RIT VS. LINDENWOOD – HISTORY
RIT is 1-2-1 this season against Lindenwood with each team scoring six even-strength goals collectively. The Tigers lost in Lindenwood, 4-1 (Dec. 3) and 3-1 (Dec. 4), before taking three of four points in Rochester with a 3-3 tie (Feb. 11) and 3-1 win (Feb. 12). Overall, the Tigers are 15-16-7 against the Lions. This is the first postseason meeting between the two teams.
