ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's tennis team fell to RPI, 9-0, Friday.
Senior
Julianne Ho and
Mackenzie Wade came within a pair of games in third doubles in an 8-6 loss, while graduate student
Julia Smolowitz and senior
Kirsten Auble dropped an 8-4 match in second doubles. Sophomore
Jackie Drozd and freshman
Gabby Donohue fell 8-0 in first doubles.
In singles play, Auble took nine games at third singles before falling 7-5 and 6-4. Ho fell 6-1 in her first set before falling 6-4 in the second set in fifth doubles. Donohue fell 6-3 and 6-1 at second singles. Smolowitz fell 6-1, 6-3, at fourth singles and Drozd lost 6-0, 6-1, in first singles.
Women's tennis next hosts Nazareth on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. at the Gordon Field House.
