ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The RIT women's hockey team travels to Penn State for a pair of games this weekend in Conference Hockey America play beginning on Friday, Feb. 18 at 2:00 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Pegula Ice Arena. This weekend's action ends CHA regular season play.

LAST TIME OUT
RIT enters this weekend after taking three of four points against CHA opponent Lindenwood last weekend with a 3-1 win (Feb. 12) and 3-3 tie (Feb. 11). The Tigers' three goals in each game was the first time this season that RIT scored three or more goals in consecutive games.
RIT freshman goaltender
Sarah Coe finished with a .971 save percentage in her lone start of the weekend series (Feb. 12) for her first collegiate win and was named CHA Rookie of the Week and RIT Female Athlete of the Week for her 33-save performance. Coe was 8:39 away from her first shutout. Sophomore

Kyla Bear extended her point streak to three games after registering an assist on the Tigers' first goal on Saturday and is in a four-way tie for the team lead in assists with six. Lindsay Maloney's goal in the RIT win was a team-best fourth power-play tally this season.
CHA ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Freshman goaltender
Sarah Coe was named CHA Rookie of the Week. She won her first career collegiate game in RIT's last home game of the season last Saturday. The Brooklin, Ont., native made 33 saves in the game, which included a 12-shot first period and a 14-shot Lindenwood barrage in the third, and finished with a .971 save percentage. This is Coe's third CHA weekly award of the season.
CHA WEEKLY HONORABLE MENTIONS
Sophomore forward
Emma Roland was a forward honorable mention after finishing the Lindenwood series with four points (2g-2a) tallying the game-tying assist on Friday and scoring the game-winning goal on Saturday. Freshman defender
Kyla Bear was a rookie honorable mention after recording assists in both games in the Lindenwood series to help RIT go unbeaten this past weekend. She is currently riding a three-game point streak.

2022 BREAKOUT
RIT has one win and three ties since the 2022 calendar year began. Entering the third period this season, the Tigers have either led, tied or trailed by a single goal in more than half its contests. RIT has five OT games this season with four coming in 2022 and has taken each CHA opponent to overtime.
UPCOMING SCHOLARSHIPS
A proposal was passed at the NCAA Convention on Jan. 22 which will allow RIT to offer scholarships to its Division I women's hockey student-athletes moving forward.

Taylor Sims continues to lead the nation in blocks with 90, while sophomore defender
Mia Tsilemos is third nationally in blocked shots with 74. Bear is second among freshmen players nationally in blocked shots with 61 and is 12th nationally. Senior forward and captain
Jordan Marchese leads all forwards nationally in blocked shots with 53 and is tied for 25th nationally.
ABOUT THE NITTANY LIONS
The Nittany Lions are second in the CHA with 16 points and have a 7-3-2 conference record and a 17-9-4 overall record. Penn State enters this weekend's games after taking a pair of road contests at Long Island University. The Nittany Lions won 10-0 on Feb. 11 and followed that with a 2-0 win on Feb. 12. Penn State is led by senior forward Natalie Heising's 38 points and 19 goals, while sophomore forward Kiara Zanon has a team-best 25 assists. Sophomore goaltender Josie Bothum has 17 wins from 30 starts with a 1.66 goals-against average and .925 save percentage.
RIT VS. PENN STATE – HISTORY
The Tigers are 16-27-4 all-time against Penn State. RIT's last matchup with Penn State ended 2-2 in overtime on Jan. 15, a day after the Tigers fell 5-0 on Jan. 14 in Rochester.
