Kaidon Winters and freshman
Josh Harkless recorded a pair of falls each to lead No. 17 RIT to a 42-9 win over Oneonta and a 45-3 victory over Penn College at the Tiger Duals on Senior Day in Clark Gymnasium, Sunday.
Winters (157 pounds) needed a combined 2:12 to dispose of his two opponents, while Harkless (197 pounds) recorded his pair of falls in 2:45.
The Tigers took nine of 10 bouts against Penn and eight of 10 against Oneonta. Double winners on the day included sophomore
Logan Patterson (125 pounds), senior
Shane Murphy (141 pounds), sophomore
Michael Glynn III (149 pounds) and junior
Austin Lamb (165 pounds).
Patterson finished the day with a 12-4 major decision against Oneonta and a 7-5 decision against Penn. Murphy recorded a pin in 2:26 against the Red Dragons and a 16-7 major decision against the Wildcats. Glynn took a 19-1 technical fall against Oneonta and an 8-0 major decision over Penn. Lamb recorded a fall in 42 seconds against the Wildcats and a 5-4 decision over the Red Dragons.
In the 174 and 184 weight classes, the Tigers went a combined 4-0 with four different wrestlers. At 174, senior
Jake Warner took a 15-4 major decision against Penn, while senior
Zach Stedeford recorded a pin in 1:13 against Oneonta. At 184, senior
Nathan Parker needed 54 seconds to pin his Penn opponent, while junior
Colby Giroux took 5:56 to pin his Red Dragon opponent.
The Tigers lost both 133-pound bouts with senior
Alex Prunoske falling in overtime, 6-4, and senior
Christopher Dean dropping a close 3-2 decision. At 285, junior
Calik Kennedy got a forfeit win against Penn and fell to Oneonta by pinfall.
