HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The RIT men's track & field team opened its indoor season at the Houghton December Classic at the Kerr-Pegula Field House, Friday. 

• Senior Tyler Hulse won the high jump competition with a final height of 1.96 meters.
• Graduate student Matthew Funicelli finished second in both the shot put and weight throw, with his shot put falling behind only Jonathan Sudej of Division I Buffalo. In weight throw, four of the top five finishers were from RIT.
• Junior Justin Jantzi finished second and graduate student teammate Matthew Skakal came in third in the 200.
• Sophomore Ben Sheehan placed second in the long jump.
• The 4x200 team of Jantzi, sophomore Trenton Goyette, Skakal, and first-year Ryan Senf finished third, behind two teams from Division I Buffalo. The 4x400 team (first-year Benjamin Pochobradsky, first-year Andrew Koubek, sophomore Matthew Resnick, and sophomore Max Stein) also finished third.
• Graduate student Connor Burrows notched a third-place finish in the triple jump.  

The Tigers will compete again next Friday, Dec. 9, at the Nazareth Alumni Open.
