WAYNESBURG, Pa. – RIT won all three of their duals, defeating Waynesburg, Fairmont State, and Washington & Jefferson at the Waynesburg Duals, Saturday.
The Tigers took their first dual of the day, against host Waynesburg, 48-3. Nine of the 10 Tigers won their matches, with junior
Michael Glynn III (149 lbs.), sophomore
Josh Harkless (197 lbs.) and sophomore
Nate DeGroff (285 lbs.) all getting their wins on pins. First-year Isaiah Shaffer won his 133 lb. match with Waynesburg's Christian Michaels by major decision, 20-4.
In the second round of duals, RIT defeated Division II Fairmont State University, 38-6. Senior
Austin Lamb beat Fairmont's Jude Childers at 165 lb. with a pin less than a minute into the match, while junior
Seth Russo (125 lbs.) and senior
James Ost (157 lbs.) won by major decision.
In the third and final round, RIT beat Washington & Jefferson, 42-6. Pins were scored by junior
Josh Post (141 lbs.), Ost, senior
Colby Giroux (184 lbs.), Harkless, and DeGroff. Glynn III defeated Washington & Jefferson's Nicholas Reeping by tech fall, while Lamb and senior
Ben Dougherty (174 lbs.) won on major decisions.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 3, at the RIT Invitational.
