ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT junior forward
Nicole Ness scored her first goal of the season, but it was visiting Lindenwood earning a 2-1 OT victory, Saturday, in College Hockey America action.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game was scoreless until Ness put the Tigers on the board with 9:07 left in the third period. Sophomore forward Megan McCormick won a draw in the right faceoff circle back to Ness, who scored on a shot from the top of the circle inside the left post.
- Lindenwood found the equalizer with 50.2 left in regulation after Kaitlin Finnegan collected a short rebound outside the right post and flipped a shot over Tiger sophomore goaltender Sarah Coe.
- The Lions won it 1:20 into extra time after Meara Ryan took a long stretch pass from Morgan Neitzke in the RIT zone and skated back to beat Coe with a shot between her pads.
GAME NOTES
- Lindenwood completed the CHA sweep after also earning a 1-0 victory on Friday.
- Coe totaled 24 saves in the loss, including 11 in the third period.
- McCormick notched her first assist of the season while winning 11-of-19 face-offs.
- RIT out-shot the Lions, 32-26.
- Sophomore defensewoman Kyla Bear was credited with a game-high seven blocked shots.
