Women's Hockey loses 1-0 to Lindenwood

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The RIT women's hockey team lost 1-0 to Lindenwood in College Hockey America action, Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Lindenwood's Molly Henderson gave the Lions the lead on a power play goal at 9:21 of the first period. Rachel Goff and Henderson exchanged the puck behind the Tigers net. Henderson wrapped a shot around and past sophomore goalie Sarah Coe.
  • Graduate student forward Amy Dobson fired a shot on goal late in the opening period off a RIT breakout that was turned aside by Lindenwood goalie Natalie Ferenc.
  • RIT killed off four Lindenwood power plays in a scoreless second period.
  • Junior defensewoman Mia Tsilemos and junior forward Emma Roland each had chances late in the period for the Tigers.
  • Roland had a chance early in the third period when she gathered the loose puck and fired a shot on net.
  • Sophomore forward Megan McCormick had her shot hit off the cross-bar at 1:36 of the third.
  • Junior forward Lindsay Maloney and senior forward Hana Solinger each had shots on net, while sophomore forward Jordyn Bear had her shot turned away by Ferenc late in regulation.  
 
GAME NOTES
  • Lindenwood outshot RIT, 39-23.
  • The Tigers stopped five-of-six Lindenwood power plays.
  • Coe made 38 saves for the Tigers.

RIT returns to action on Saturday (Nov. 19) against Lindenwood at 12:00 p.m.
