Women's Hockey loses at home to Syracuse

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT first-year forward Lexi Sung scored her first collegiate goal in the Tigers 4-1 loss to Syracuse, Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Syracuse's Hannah Johnson scored at 13:40 of the first period off assists from Tatum White and Mik Todd.
  • Sarah Marchand scored a short-handed goal at 19:12 of the first to extend the Orange lead to 2-0.
  • Sung scored 56 seconds into the second period off an assist from junior forward Emma Roland that cut the deficit to 2-1.
  • Roland had a chance at 7:58 into the second. She skated in and fired a shot that Syracuse goalie Ariella DeSmet gobbled up.
  • Marchand scored her second of the game at 16:32 of the second, while Madison Primeau made it 4-1 on her goal at late in the period.
 
GAME NOTES:
  • Syracuse outshot RIT 27-18.
  • The Tigers were 0-for-3 on the power play, while the Orange finished 1-for-1 with the extra skater.
  • Sophomore goalie Sarah Coe made 11 saves in net, while junior Emma Stephen made 12 saves in relief.
  • RIT celebrated the 10th anniversary of winning the 2012 National Championship.
