Women's Hockey loses on the road at St. Lawrence

CANTON, N.Y. – RIT first-year goalie Sophia Bellina made 31 saves in her first collegiate start as the Tigers lost 3-0 at St. Lawrence, Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Taylor Lum scored at 7:41 of the first period to give the Saints the lead. Shailynn Snow skated to the net but had the puck knocked away by a Tigers defender. The puck came to Lum who one-timed it in for the goal.
  • Graduate student forward Amy Dobson had a chance early in the opening period, while junior forward Nicole Ness had a shot on net from the face-off dot saved late in the opening frame.
  • Bellina made 11 stops for the Tigers in a scoreless second period.
  • Junior forward Chloe McNeil had a power play chance at nine minutes, while sophomore forward Athena Vasdani had a chance at 9:38.
  • Lum added an empty-net goal at 19:37 to make it 3-0.
 
GAME NOTES:
  • St. Lawrence outshot RIT 34-11
  • The Tigers were 0-for-4 with the extra skater.
  • RIT won 29-of-54 face-offs.
