ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The RIT women's hockey team continues Conference Hockey America action with a pair of games this weekend against Syracuse. The Tigers travel to Syracuse on Friday, Jan. 21 with a 7 p.m. start at the Tennity Ice Pavilion before hosting the Orange on Saturday, Jan. 22 at 3 p.m. at the Gene Polisseni Center.

LAST TIME OUT
RIT earned its first CHA point in its last game against visiting Penn State with a 2-2 tie (Jan. 15). Senior forward
Abby Davies scored the tying goal in the final minute after redirecting a shot from junior forward
Hana Solinger, who had assists on both Tiger goals. RIT finished the weekend series 0-1-1 with the Nittany Lions after a 5-0 setback the previous day (Jan. 14).
ON THE CUSP OF BREAKING OUT
Last weekend's tie gave the Tigers points in two its last three games. The Tigers have either led, tied or trailed by a goal entering the third period in more than half its contests this season that includes four of their last five games.
NATIONAL LEADERS
RIT continues to lead the nation in team saves with 865, while senior defender
Taylor Sims leads the nation in blocked shots with 64. Freshman defender
Kyla Bear leads all freshmen nationally with 45 blocked shots, which is tied for eighth-most among all players.
ANOTHER ROOKIE AWARD
Freshman goaltender
Sarah Coe was named CHA Rookie of the Week for her performance in the Penn State series (Jan. 14-15). Coe finished with 35 saves on Jan. 15 and registered 12 more in relief on Jan. 14. Her 47 saves last weekend moved her to fourth in the nation with 597. It was Coe's second weekly award this season.
TEAM LEADERS
Davies' goal and sophomore forward
Emma Roland's assist in team's last game allowed the pair to share the team points lead with sophomore forward
Lindsay Maloney with nine points each. Davies leads the team with seven goals, while freshman forward
Athena Vasdani leads the team with six assists.
SCOUTING THE ORANGE
The Orange are third in the CHA with a 5-3-0 record and have a 7-9-5 overall record. Syracuse enters this weekend's game after having last going 1-0-1 in the 'Battle of the 'Burgh' in Pittsburgh, Pa. The Orange skated to a 3-3 OT tie against Boston University (Jan. 1) before a 5-2 win over St. Cloud (Jan. 2). Senior forward Abby Moloughney leads Syracuse with 10 goals and 19 points, while freshman forward Sarah Marchand has a team-best 11 assists.
RIT VS. SYRACUSE - HISTORY
RIT has an 11-25-4 lifetime record against Syracuse that includes a previous home-and-home series this season in the first week of November, RIT fell 3-2 in overtime in Syracuse (Nov. 5) before suffering a 7-0 setback in Rochester (Nov. 6). The series between the Orange and Tigers dates back to Nov. 10, 2012 with a 2-2 tie in Rochester. The first seven contests (2012-14) were decided by one goal or less.
