CANTON, N.Y. – RIT senior outside hitter
Katie Hobler (Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy) totaled 14 kills and six digs while senior outside hitter
Taylor Higgins (Peru, NY/Peru) added 13 kills and 11 digs to lead the Tigers to a 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 28-26) sweep of host St. Lawrence in Liberty League women's volleyball action, Saturday.
- Trailing, 13-10, in the first set, RIT scored six-straight points to start an 8-2 surge and take a 18-15 lead. The Saints pulled back within one on four occasions, including 22-21, but the Tigers scored three of the final four points to close the first set.
- RIT once again found itself in a 13-10 hole to start the second before riding a 9-1 run to a 19-14 lead it would not relinquish.
- St. Lawrence led, 14-7, in the third before RIT tied the score, 16-16, with a 9-2 run. RIT later led, 24-22, but St. Lawrence scored three-straight points to take a 25-24 lead. The Tigers then trailed, 26-25, but three-consecutive Saints hitting errors gave RIT the victory.
MATCH NOTES
- RIT freshman setter Sydney Neff (Delmar, NY/Academy of the Holy Names) totaled 37 assists and five digs.
- Senior libero Kiana Walker (Lloydminster, Alberta/Lloydminster Comprehensive) added a match-high 16 digs.

RIT heads to New Hampshire for two matches at the Keene State Invitational next Saturday (Oct. 2), taking on Eastern Connecticut at 2:00 p.m. and the host Owls at 4:00 p.m.
