In doubles action, Donohue and Drozd fell to Hamilton's Hannah Apsey and Lauren Holtzman, 8-0.

In consolation and exhibition matches, Auble beat New Jersy City's Mila Gligorov, 8-7 (9-7). Junior Mackenzie Wade (Tyler, TX/Ouachita Baptist) dropped to New Jersey City's Giada Zorzan, 8-2. Drozd fell to Union's Sophie Brown, 8-4, and to TCNJ's Chloe Hansen, 8-1.

Sixty-four of the region's best singles players and 32 of the top doubles teams, representing 16 institutions participated in the annual championship. While there was not an official consolation draw, players were given an opportunity to play additional matches against other players in the tournament field.

"It was a great experience for our new players. They know what they need to work on and where to go from here," RIT head women's coach Raphaela Jann said.

The women's tennis team wraps up the fall portion of its 2021-22 season this weekend, Sept. 25-26, at the St. Lawrence Invitational in Canton.
