ROCHESTER, NY –Tyler Sceviour (Calgary, Alberta/Bowness), a senior at RIT, is the recipient of the Elite 90 award for the 2021 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship.
Sceviour, majoring in biomedical sciences carries a 3.98 GPA. Sceviour was presented with the award after the Tigers practice on Friday, May 27 in Hartford, Connecticut.
The Elite 90, an award founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's championships.
Eligible student-athletes are sophomores or above who have participated in their sport for at least two years with their school. All ties are broken by the number of credits completed.

Sceviour joins former men's lacrosse players John Hill (2017) and Pat McMullan (2013), and men's hockey standout Mark Cornacchia, who won the Elite 88 award, as it was known then, in 2010 at the Frozen Four in Detroit.
Sceviour has played in 13 games this season for RIT, tallying 20 ground balls and causing four turnovers. He grabbed four ground balls and caused two turnovers in Sunday's 18-16 win over Tufts University in the NCAA Division III semifinal.
RIT, ranked third in the final USILA Division III poll, will face No. 2 Salisbury University on Sunday, May 31 in the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship game at 4 p.m. at Rentschler Field. It is the Tigers third trip to the championship game in 22 NCAA Tournament appearances.
