Women's lacrosse cruises to 15-3 win at home against Skidmore

ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT (5-2, 2-2 Liberty League) women's lacrosse team scored the first eight goals of the game Saturday, in a 15-3 win over Skidmore College (2-2, 0-2 Liberty League) in Liberty League action from RIT's Turf Field Saturday afternoon.

Senior attack Alanna Fallone (Penfield, NY/Penfield) led the Tigers with seven goals. She moves into fourth place on RIT's all-time scoring list with 208 career points, becoming the fourth player in program history to reach the 200-point milestone.

Senior Olivia Africa (Syracuse, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) finished with six points on three goals and three assists, while Junior midfielder McKenna Joint (Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) and senior Steph Darrell (East Norhtport, NY/St. Anthony's) each tallied two goals.

Senior Paulina Goodermote (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) picked up the win in net for the Tigers, making 10 saves. Sophomore Baylee West (Hummelstown, PA/Hershey) caused two turnovers and led the Tigers with eight draw controls. Rose Core (Syosset, NY/St. Anthony's) led RIT with five ground balls.

Shots were 34-16 in favor of RIT, winning the ground ball battle, 23-10. The Tigers went 4-for-6 on free position attempts and went 16-of-19 on clearing attempts.
 
The Tigers jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first half and led 10-1 at halftime. Fallone scored six of her seven goals in that opening stretch for RIT, including four straight.

RIT tacked on five goals in the second half, while the Tigers defense held the Thoroughbreds to two second-half goals.
 
Amelia Bassett led Skidmore with two goals. Phoebe Beshlian took the loss in net for the Thoroughbreds, making one save.

RIT returns to action on Friday, April 9, when the Tigers play at the University of Rochester in a non-conference game beginning at 4 p.m.
