Fallone's five goals lead women's lacrosse to 10-8 comeback win at Skidmore

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – RIT senior attacker Alanna Fallone (Penfield, NY/Penfield) scored five goals – all in the final 21 minutes of regulation - to bring the Tigers back for a 10-8 victory at Skidmore in Liberty League action, Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Skidmore build a 5-2 halftime lead that grew to 6-2 1:09 into the second half. However, Fallone capped a 3-0 RIT run over the next seven minutes that pulled the visitors within one, 6-5, with 21:44 on the clock.
  • Skidmore made it a 7-5 lead with 19:51 left in regulation, before Fallone converted a free-position attempt with 11:35 to play.
  • The Thoroughbreds took an 8-6 edge with 10:35 on the clock, but Fallone responded with three-unanswered goals in a three-minute span to push RIT in the lead, 9-8, with 7:06 remaining.
  • Senior attacker Olivia Africa (Syracuse, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) tacked on her third goal of the game with 6:38 left in regulation to put the game out of reach.
GAME NOTES
  • RIT out-shot Skidmore, 30-24, including a 20-18 advantage in shots on goal.
  • Africa also tallied an assist to finish the game with four points and run her season total to 30 (19G, 11A)
  • Fallone leads the Tigers with 28 goals and is tied with Africa for the team lead with 30 points. She also finished the afternoon with a team-high five draw controls.
  • Senior goalie Paulina Goodermote (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) stopped 10 shots for her fifth double-digit save performance of the season.
  • Sophomore defender Rose Core (Syosset, NY/St. Anthony's) picked up a game-high six ground balls.
