ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (2-3, 1-2 Liberty League) women's tennis team came back to beat William Smith College 5-4 in Liberty League action from the RIT Tennis Courts Saturday. Trailing 2-1 after doubles, the Tigers came back to win four-of-six singles matches.
In doubles, the team of
Annie Steinbrink (Ambler, PA/Upper Dublin) and
Kirsten Auble (Portland, OR/Sunset) took down the duo of Jamie Fine and Louisa Morrow, 8-2 at third doubles. In singles, the Herons were victorious at first and second singles. Auble was a 6-4, 6-3 winner over Katelyn Nguyen at third singles, and
Abby Murray (Erie, PA/McDowell) was a 6-1, 6-3 winner at fourth singles.
Jackie Drozd (Richboro, PA/The Hun School) was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at fifth singles, and
Julia Smolowitz (Hudson, MA/Hudson) defeated Crystal Morgans, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 at sixth singles to secure the win.
RIT is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, April 20, at 2 p.m. against Rensselaer from the RIT Tennis Courts.
